As you know, there is increasing focus on the coronavirus (COVID-19) threat across the country with more states and counties taking bold action to keep schools close as a safety precaution. As an essential business, we are opening our doors to provide childcare service to families in need of a safe and healthy place to drop-off their children while they are working. To maximize the safety of everyone in our care, we have adapted new guidelines to our existing safety rules.
We continue to act with vigilance in promoting overall preventative health hygiene to minimize the spread of infectious diseases within our schools, including:
• Thorough handwashing and covering up coughs/sneezes.
• Daily “wellness” checks of students—promptly sending students home if they show signs of illness (a fever of 100.4 or above).
• Ensuring all faculty, staff and students feeling ill stay home until they recover.
• Repeated cleaning of “high-touch” surfaces throughout the school day.
• Reassuring children as questions and concerns regarding the virus come up.
Children 1st Preschool is actively caring for our younger population. We know that parents are debating returning to childcare with their little ones. We completely understand and we encourage you to continue care for your children at home if you’re able to do so. For our working families in need of a childcare during the days you have to work, we are available to serve you in a safe and healthy environment.
We have adapted new guidelines to our existing ones in order to meet the standards of our current situation w/ COVID-19:
All parents are required to check their child’s temperature at home before drop-off.
We will also check the kids’ temperature at the door.
Parents will now drop your children at the front entrance.
No parents will be allowed past the threshold.
If there’s something urgent to discuss, please call ahead of time and follow the hand sanitizer, slippers/booties only and mask protocol.
All of our staff are required to wear mask and classroom slippers.
We maintain group sizes of 10 people per class.
Our groups also stay with one teacher and do not transfer to other classrooms to limit contact with others.
We know how stressful it is at a time like this that’s why we encourage you (parents) to call and check on your babies as much as you want.
All visitors including tours are being cancelled.
All special event visits are being cancelled. Children will still go outside and get exercise in the safest environment possible.
As always please come to us with any questions or suggestions. We are committed to working together to ensure the health and safety of the children and families we serve.
